Vocal demonstrations of Vilayat Khansaheb reveal the clarity of his musical thought and his genius.

Vocal demonstrations of Vilayat Khansaheb reveal the clarity of his musical thought and his genius. But, would it be fair to generalise that instrumentalists are superior on this dimension of musicality than vocalists, as they need a much higher level of mind and body coordination? The voice will express almost involuntarily -- the instrument can't. Is this a fair argument?

In response to the question whether instrumentalists are superior to vocalists in the clarity of musical thought – I would say that one cannot generalise. In my opinion, the ability to perform a vocal or an instrumental piece with accuracy would depend upon the quality of taleem that the musician has received – irrespective of the fact that whether he/she is a vocalist or an instrumentalist. In this regard, it would be useful to note that clarity of musical thought could have different connotations.
