Every raga has sa as the base note. Chikaris are meant to sustain this element hence both the chikaris are to be tuned in sa. Last one in upper sa and other in basic sa.

Dear Guruji. I have a question regarding the tuning of the chikari strings in Raga Puriya. Should it be (high to low) S S D G? I have heard a few different variations so would value your views on the subject. Thank you....
Thank you Guruji. The next two strings which in Raga Yaman are tuned to Pa and Ga do they remain as Pa and Ga in Raga Puriya or is the Pa tuned up to Dha?
