Musicology is like a car in which you sit and drive. Once you have grasped the technique and rules of driving, you should use the car as just a vehicle to arrive at your destination. Once you have reached the level when your subconscious mind takes over guiding you to the destination of real sublime music, you would have forgotten the car and are enjoying music and forgetting musicology.
